Pump price rollback set Tuesday

oil price rollback oil prices Jan. 28, 2025

Pump prices of petroleum products will be rolled back this week, but this will not be enough to offset the increases implemented in the past three weeks.

In separate advisories, Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will lower prices per liter of gasoline by P0.80, diesel by P0.20, and kerosene by P0.50.

Cleanfuel will implement the same adjustments, excluding kerosene which it does not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will roll back prices at 8:01 a.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

The Department of Energy-Oil industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected a reduction in prices of fuel products, citing the reopening of refineries and ports in the US Gulf Coast, and the proposed tariffs of US President Donald Trump.

Retailers hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P1.65, diesel by P2.70, and kerosene by P2.50 last Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

This brought year-to-date adjustments to a net increase of P3.45 per liter for gasoline, P5.00 per liter for diesel, and P4.30 per liter for kerosene as of January 21, 2025. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
