PH ready to do more business with Japan —Recto
The Philippine government is ready for more business opportunities with Japan, according to Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Thursday.
Recto made the remark before Filipino and Japanese government and business leaders who are tackling ways to boost trade between the two countries.
“The Philippines is ready to do more business with Japanese partners,” Recto said during the welcome dinner for the 42nd Annual Joint Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Committees of the Philippines and Japan at the Goldenberg Mansion.
“You want clear rules. You want a coordinated government. And you want decisions made without delay. That is exactly what we are working to deliver,” he added.
Recto, former Finance chief, said investors do not ask for favors but only fairness, predictability, and speed.
''Our answer is to make doing business in the Philippines easier, faster, and more reliable,'' Recto ensured.
Recto further cited the country's “strategic location in a rapidly growing region,'' noting its importance when it comes to making investments.
“If you come here for sand, sea and surf, we go there for Sapporo, Shibuya and Shinsaibashi. These immersions in the culture and hospitality of two great nations are luxury experiences, yet affordable, that deepen the bonds of the two friendliest peoples on earth,'' he said.
On Wednesday, President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. welcomed delegates of the Economic Cooperation Committees of Japan and the Philippines. Both parties committed to bolster their ties to pursue stronger jobs and bigger investments between the two nations. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
