Gasoline prices up for 7th week; diesel and kerosene for 9th week

Gasoline pump prices up for 7th straight week Tuesday; diesel & kerosene for 9th

Motorists will have to tighten their belts once more this week, as retailers on Monday announced another round of price hikes to mark the seventh straight week of increases for gasoline, and the ninth for both diesel and kerosene.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.60, and diesel and kerosene by P1.20 each.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will hike prices at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected mixed movements for this week, citing the combination of geopolitical tensions, supply expectations, inventory movements, and market sentiment.

Firms last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P1.20, and diesel and kerosene by P0.60 each.

Year-to-date adjustments stood at a net increase of P2.40 per liter for gasoline, P5.40 per liter for diesel, and P3.80 per liter for kerosene as of February 3, 2026. — RSJ/RF, GMA Integrated News
