Vehicles sales down in February 2026 —CAMPI, TMA data

Vehicles sold in the country saw a year-on-year drop in February 2026, based on combined sales data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).

CAMPI and TMA data showed a total of 35,842 vehicles were sold last month, down 8.5% from 39,164 in February 2025.

Month-on-month, February vehicles sales grew 6.4% from 33,696 in January.

CAMPI president Jose Maria Atienza attributed the month-on-month sales increase to improved supply, noting that most brands could serve the month's increased demand.

"We experienced an expected drop in January, partly caused by the leaner supply as an effect of the strong buyer demand we saw in December," said Atienza.

The CAMPI chief, however, took note of the  Middle East conflict and how “it is affecting how Filipino motorists choose and use their cars.”

Atienza said the automotive industry has been expanding and diversifying their product lineups with energy efficient and electrified options, allowing them to offer more economical options to the customers.

CAMPI and TMA data showed that a total of 3,098 electric vehicles were sold in February, up 70.6% from 1,816 sold in the same month last year.

Month-on-month, electric vehicles sales grew 18.7% from 2,610 sold in January.

Atienza said the growing electric vehicles sales grew aligns with the ongoing trend highlighting growing customer preference for electric vehicles.

In terms of market share for February, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) maintained its top position with 17,954 units (50%) sold.

It is followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp.  (MMPC) with 7,358 units (20.5%) sold, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) with 1,610 (4.5%), Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) with 1,554 units (4.3%), and Ford Motor Company Philippines Inc. (FMCPI) with 1,335 units (3.7%). —AOL, GMA Integrated News
