2-month toll discount for PUVs, PUBs, freights starting March 23 —DOTr

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Friday announced that expressways operators have volunteered to grant a two-month toll discount for public utility vehicles (PUVs), public utility buses (PUBs), and vehicles involved in freight services starting March 23, 2026.

According to a DOTr statement, Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez informed Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Executive Director Jay Art Tugade that “tollway concessionaires/operators expressed that they will voluntarily implement a temporary toll discount for essential transport sectors.”

The toll reprieve came amid the soaring fuel prices resulting from supply tightening due to the Middle East crisis.

The DOTr said the two-month discount may be extended subject to review.
