Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez expressed gratitude to toll operators for granting discounts to public utility vehicle drivers, saying these would help ease the daily burden on the transport sector.
(We thank toll operators because these discounts are a big help to our PUV drivers. We understand the daily challenges faced by the transport sector, which is why we will continue implementing programs that directly assist them.)
The toll discounts come as fuel prices continue to rise due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
These additional discounts follow an earlier announcement of a two-month toll reduction for PUVs, public buses, and freight vehicles along NLEX, SLEX, and STAR Tollway.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
