The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has announced a P45 increase in the daily pay of minimum wage earners and a P1,000 monthly salary increase for domestic workers (kasambahay) in the Bicol Region.

The NWPC made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday.

The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Region 5 approved Wage Order No. V-23, which will take effect on April 8. It will be given in two tranches.

The first tranche of P20 will be given on April 8 while the second tranche of P25 will be given on December 1, 2026.

From the current minimum daily wage of P435, the minimum daily wage in Bicol Region will be P480 upon the full implementation of the wage order.

The wage hike will cover workers in the private sector in Iriga City, Legazpi City, Ligao City, Masbate City, Naga City, Sorsogon City, and Tabaco City; and the provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon.

Meanwhile, domestic workers in the Bicol Region will enjoy a P1,000 monthly pay hike effective April 5 as provided for in Wage Order No. RBV-DW-04.

This will bring the monthly minimum pay for kasambahays to P6,000, from the current P5,000 rate.

The wage hike will cover domestic workers in Iriga City, Legazpi City, Ligao City, Masbate City, Naga City, Sorsogon City, and Tabaco City; and the provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
