LOOK: Marcos meets with Japanese businessmen

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday held a series of meetings with Japanese businessmen, who have expressed to invest some $3.4 billion or around P210 billion in the Philippines.

Marcos was joined by Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque and Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay and other officials during the meetings which were held on the sidelines of his four-day state visit upon the invitation of Japanese officials.

Among the businessmen Marcos met with were officials of the Tsuneishi Group Corp., Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd., Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd., and MineabeaMitsumi Inc.



Malacañang earlier said the investments are expected to catalyze “substantive macroeconomic benefitis, expanding domestic industrial capacity and directly generating thousands of high-quality, specialized jobs for Filipinos.” —RF, GMA News
