Dairy production up by 21.2% in H1 2026 — NDA
The local dairy production has increased by 21.2% in the first six months of 2026, the National Dairy Authority (NDA) said.
The NDA said the country's milk production reached 25.38 million liters in the first half of the year. This is an improvement from the 20.94 million liters achieved in the same period in 2025.
The agency also noted an increase in dairy herd to 165,785 heads, a 6.5% rise from the 155,662 heads in 2025.
Citing Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data, dairy production posted a 37.8% year-on-year increase in the second quarter of this year.
Further, the NDA said the value of dairy production rose from P1.36 billion in the first half of 2025 to P1.69 billion in the first half of 2026.
Farmgate prices also went up, with cow’s milk ticking up 0.41% to P47.05 per liter and carabao’s milk climbing 4.95% to P89.55 per liter.
The NDA is targeting 53 million liters of milk production and a 2.33 percent milk sufficiency level for 2026. — BAP, GMA News
