EDSA busway inner lane remains exclusive to buses amid rehab, DOTr says

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Thursday reminded motorists that the inner lane of EDSA will remain exclusive to buses amid the ongoing rehabilitation along the southbound section from Nepa Q-Mart to Boni Avenue.

In an advisory, DOTr said private vehicles may use Lane 1 adjacent to the EDSA busway lane, as well as the other outer lanes.

“Please be advised that the inner lane is strictly dedicated to the EDSA Busway,” the advisory read.

“During DPWH’s EDSA Rehabilitation Project Phase 2 reblocking works along intermittent sections from Nepa Q-Mart to Boni Avenue (southbound), private vehicles may use Lane 1 beside the dedicated EDSA Busway, as well as the other available lanes,” it added.

The temporary arrangement started last November 2 and is expected to last around two weeks. Once the remaining works are completed, the EDSA busway section will return to its regular dedicated use. —VAL, GMA News
