Toyota unveils All-New Corolla Altis lineup
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) on Monday unveiled the All-New Corolla Altis lineup, headlined by its hybrid electric variant.
“The All-New Toyota Corolla is the first-ever model to be launched in the Philippines that completely embodies our philosophy of ever better cars,” TMP president Satoru Suzuki said.
The hybrid electric marks the first time the Toyota Hybrid technology is made available through mainstream, high-volume model.
Priced at P1.58 million, the Corolla Altis 1.8V HV variant is powered by a VVT-I, 4-Cylinder In-Line DOHC, 16 Valve engine with 1,798cc displacement and electric motor.
It also has a 121 horsepower total system maximum output, and 142Nm maximum torque at 3,600 revolutions per minute.
All variants are equipped with seven SRS airbags, an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-force distribution, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and 3-point emergency locking retractor seat belts for the driver and all passengers.
The car comes with the lane tracing assist (LTA), which helps keep the vehicle centered while using the dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), that applies force on the steering to assist the drive-in avoiding lane departure.
The DRCC allows the vehicle to drive at a constant preset speed, and will adjust within the set cruise speed upon detection of another vehicle in front to maintain the appropriate distance.
The 1.8 V HV and 1.6V CVT variants of the unit both have defined bi-beam LED headlamps and LED line guide DRL, with a side view silhouette.
They also have full LED rear combination lamps that complement the headlamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Prices of the All-New Toyota Corolla Altis range from P999,000 to as high as P1.595 million, depending on the variant. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
