FWD to insure 500 motorists using newly renamed FWD-MCX for free

Insurer FWD Life Philippines is covering 500 motorists with a P500,000 insurance policy for free, the company said Monday, in conjunction with the newly renamed FWD-Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX).

The coverage is part of an agreement with AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation (AC Infra), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Corporation.

The one-year accidental insurance is in line with the insurer’s continuing efforts to protect more Filipinos and secure for them financial peace of mind, FWD said in a statement.

Motorists can go to bit.ly/SignUpForOffer and enter their details to qualify for the free insurance subject to terms and conditions.

The FWD-MCX is a crucial artery between Muntinlupa and Cavite, connecting the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to Daang Hari, Cavite.

Used by more than one million cars a month, the FWD-MCX has shortened what was once a 20-minute drive from Daang Hari road to SLEX to only three minutes.

“The FWD-MCX contributes to economic progress by enabling businesses to expand their geographic market reach outside of Metro Manila,” FWD Insurance chairman of the board and former Ambassador to the USA Jose L. Cuisia Jr. said.

“The expressway serves as a critical route for their operations and opens up opportunities for them to serve immediate local communities.”

In the same statement, FWD Insurance president and CEO Peter Grimes noted the agreement with AC Infra is a pioneering “program that has never been done by a Philippine insurer.”

“In collaboration with FWD Insurance, we hope to contribute in efforts to drive local economies forward,” said AC Infra COO Noel Kintanar, who is also the president of MCX Tollway Inc. —VDS, GMA News
