Over 40,000 new vehicles sold in PH in October 2025


Over 40,000 vehicles were added to Philippine roads in October as sales continued to grow, according to a report released Monday by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA).

Data showed that 40,014 units were sold in October, reflecting a 5.2% increase from the 38,029 units sold in September and slightly higher than the 40,003 units sold in October 2024.

Commercial vehicles accounted for 79.62% of sales, totaling 31,859 units, while passenger cars made up 20.38%, or 8,155 units.

By type, the largest segment was light commercial vehicles with 22,471 units, followed by Asian utility vehicles (AUVs) with 8,309 units.

A total of 661 units of light-duty trucks and buses were sold; 352 units of medium-duty trucks and buses; and with 66 units of heavy-duty trucks and buses.

Electric vehicle (EV) sales for the month reached 3,603 units, comprising 3,004 hybrids, 284 battery-electric vehicles, and 275 plug-in hybrids.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. led the market with a 48.30% share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. at 18.97%, Ford Group Philippines at 4.86%, Suzuki Philippines Inc. at 4.77%, and Nissan Philippines Inc. at 4.73%.

Year-to-date total industry sales stood at 383,424 units, slightly down by 0.2% from the 384,310 units sold during the same period in 2024.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
