The number of new vehicles sold in the Philippines reached over 420,000 during the January to November 2025 period, data released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) on Thursday showed.

The country’s automotive industry has sold 420,776 units in the first 11 months of the year.

In November alone, the industry sold 37,352 units, “reflecting steady market participation as brands continued to roll out new models and year end promotions.”

Commercial vehicles contributed 29,903 units, maintaining their strong market presence, while passenger cars recorded 7,456 units, supported by ongoing demand for fuel efficient and entry level models.

CAMPI and TMI said the figures reflect “the sector’s continued resilience and adaptability amid evolving market conditions.”

The groups said the industry is optimistic as manufacturers prepare for the traditional surge in consumer activity during the final month of the year

CAMPI and TMI added that electrified vehicles continue to be one of the most dynamic growth areas in the market as year-to-date sales reached 28,102 units, representing 6.68% of the total industry — a clear sign of rising consumer interest in cleaner and more efficient mobility options.

In November alone, EV sales climbed to 3,837 units, accounting for 10.27% of monthly sales.

Cumulatively, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) led the segment with 22,027 units, while Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and PlugIn Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) posted strong performances with 4,261 and 1,814 units, respectively.

PHEVs surged by 216.0% month-on-month, reflecting growing acceptance of advanced electrified technologies.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation was the top performer during the 11-month period, accounting for 48.85% of the total sales, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation at 18.83%.

Ford Group Philippines contributed 4.75%, while Suzuki Philippines Inc. and Nissan Philippines Inc. shared 4.75% and 4.57%, respectively. — BM, GMA Integrated News
