PH invites Chinese EV firms to invest, partner with Philippines at Beijing expo

The Philippine Embassy in Beijing has invited Chinese electric vehicle (EV) companies to invest and partner with the Philippines, positioning the country as a strategic hub for the rapidly growing EV industry.

In a statement, the embassy said the invitation was extended during the China International New Energy Vehicle Technology, Parts, and Services Exhibition (CINEVE) 2026, one of China’s largest EV industry events, held from March 13 to 16 at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz highlighted the Philippines as an “ideal partner and investment destination for Chinese EV companies.”

“I invite Chinese EV companies to invest, manufacture, partner, and innovate in the Philippines,” FlorCruz told more than 100 attendees at the event.

According to the embassy, the Philippines also mounted a national booth at the exhibition, where representatives engaged with industry stakeholders and promoted investment opportunities in the country’s emerging EV ecosystem.

On the sidelines of CINEVE 2026, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Beijing organized the Philippines–China Business Cooperation Conference, bringing together Chinese firms involved in EV manufacturing, battery production, and related technologies.

The embassy said these initiatives aim to strengthen economic ties and position the Philippines as a competitive player in the regional EV value chain. — BM, GMA Integrated News
