The Land Bank of the Philippines on Friday clarified that only 50 accounts were confirmed compromised following the automated teller machine (ATM) skimming incidente in Cebu City.
The bank made the clarification after it was earlier reported that 2,000 accounts were feared hit by the unauthorized withdrawals allegedly made by a suspected skimming syndicate.
"The 2,000 ATM cards mentioned previosuly were blocked by Landbank only as a precautionary measure," the bank said.
"Clients can then visit their depository branch and change their PIN or request for an ATM card replacement," it added.
The National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police are still investigating the incident. —John Ted Cordero/KBK, GMA News
