PCSO advises lotto winners to invest, save for the future
What would you do if you become an instant millionaire after hitting the six-number winning combination of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) lotto jackpot prize?
You may think of a million ways to spend your fortune and indulge in the best luxuries life can offer.
But PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan has another thing in mind. He advised lotto winners to spend their instantly-earned millions wisely.
“Gaya ng lagi kong paalala sa mga nananalo, use your money wisely,” Balutan said in a statement.
“Huwag maging one-day millionaire. Save for your future. Invest,” he said.
According to the PCSO, nearly half-a-billion pesos or P426,549,073 of jackpot prizes were given in just one week this January.
On Monday, a lone winner bagged the P239.2-million Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot prize.
This brought the jackpot winners for the month to six in eight days.
“This seems to be a lucky year for our lotto clients–which is a nice way to start the year,” Balutan said.
The biggest jackpot prize hit this week is the Grand Lotto 6/55. The winner bought his ticket from the lotto outlet managed by Lucky Circle Corp. at the Lower Ground Floor of SM City Cebu, the PCSO said.
A lone winner took the P58,472,458 jackpot in the Ultra Lotto 6/58 on January 13. The winner purchased the ticket from the lotto outlet in SM Bacolod also managed by Lucky Circle Corp.
On January 15, another lucky bettor took home the Lotto 6/42 jackpot prize of P48,204,764. The ticket was purchased in a lotto outlet in Sampaloc, Manila, owned by Anthony Young.
A winner guessed all six numbers of the jackpot prize of P49,500,000 of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw on January 18. The ticket was purchased from an outlet owned by Rebecca Reyes in Novaliches, Quezon City.
On January 19, another winner took home the P5,940,000 jackpot prize of the Lotto 6/42 draw. The ticket was purchased at Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
On January 20, a lucky bettor hit the winning number for the Super Lotto 6/49 with the jackpot prize amounting to P25,226,907. Ticket was purchased from a Lotto outlet in SSS Village, Concepcion Dos, Marikina City, owned by Juvy Deligero. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
