Attack, fatal stabbing of Tondo resident caught on CCTV

A Tondo, Manila family allegedly took vengeance on a neighbor, assaulting and fatally stabbing him, because the family believed that the neighbor was responsible for the death of a relative, GMA 7 news program “Saksi” reported on Friday.

The fatal attack on 57-year-old Henry Navarro was recorded on a CCTV camera. In the footage, Joanna Pedrosa Panaligan, her sister known as “Olat”, and a male relative can be seen assaulting Navarro. The footage also shows Olat stabbing the victim on the chest and back at least three times.

According to Manila Police investigators, the family killed Navarro because they believed he had killed Joanna's husband, Regino Panaligan, over an argument over noise from a videoke machine.

Rex Bragais and his live-in partner Henelyn Navarro, Henry Navarro's daughter, were arrested and charged with frustrated homicide over the death of Regino Panaligan. Bragais and his partner are out on bail.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Joanna, and she and her relatives who have evaded authorities are now facing murder charges. — DVM, GMA News
