Fire hits Bureau of Customs building in Manila

Fire hit the Bureau of Customs (BOC) building in South Harbor, Manila on Friday evening.

According to Super Radyo dzBB's Julie Ann Mae Cabrera, the blaze started at 9 p.m.

It has reached the fifth alarm by 10 p.m.

Customs personnel said they saw the flames on the third floor of the POM building. 

The Philippine Red Cross posted photos of the burning building on social media.

Firefighters were able to put the fire under control past 4 a.m. Saturday, according to a report on Super Radyo dzBB.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB/KG, GMA News
