Rapper Loonie nabbed in buy-bust operation

Fliptop star Loonie was nabbed during a buy-bust operation in the parking basement of a hotel in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City on Wednesday night.

Arrested along with the rapper, whose real name is Marlon Peroramas, were his sister and three other individuals.

Authorities seized 15 sachets of kush or high-grade marijuana hidden in a box that was made to look like a gift.

The Makati City Police said they had been monitoring Loonie's activities for almost a month before they carried out the buy-bust operation.

The police said they received information from a confidential source regarding Loonie's activities such as his whereabouts and his companions.

Loonie allegedly made deals before and during his gigs in Makati.

The police said they found texts that determine where the high-grade marijuana worth P100,000 was sold.

Loonie has denied all allegations against him, claiming he was framed.

"Hindi totoo lahat ng paratang sa akin. Hindi po sa amin 'yan. Hindi po sa akin 'yan. 'Yang pera po, tsaka lahat ng nasa sachet hindi po sa akin 'yan," Loonie said.

According to Loonie and his sister, they were supposed to meet a fan named Shawn who had leukemia.

Text messages of the conversation were posted on Instagram where fans of Loonie reacted, Peroramas said. The IG account, however, is set to private.
