MRT-7 from QC to Bulacan almost 50% complete —DOTr

The Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT7) is now 49.22 percent complete more than three years after construction began, the Department of Transportation said on Monday.

In a statement on Facebook, the DOTr reported that civil works on nine out of 14 stations were “in full swing” while the required rolling stock of 108 cars was ready to be shipped.

The agency said civil works on the guideways of the train line were in various stages of construction.

The 22-kilometer MRT7 is scheduled for completion in 2022.

It is expected to cut travel time from Quezon City to San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan to 35 minutes from the current two to three hours.

The DOTr and concessionaire Universal LRT Corp. BVI Limited broke ground for the MRT7 in April 2016. —NB, GMA News
