Lovers to spend Valentine's Day in jail for drug charges

A couple will be spending time together on Valentine's Day after they were arrested for their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, James Agustin reported on Unang Balita.

Jerome Declaro and Katrina Salvador were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Batasan Police personnel in Barangay Payatas A in Quezon City.

The police confiscated 13 grams of suspected shabu with street value of P90,000.

The couple said they opted to sell illegal drugs in order to buy food.

"Pinapabenta lang po yan," said Declaro, adding that "Pangkain pangkain lang po ... sa umaga tanghali panghapunan pa iisa isangdaan ganyan.

Salvador, meanwhile, said "Hindi po sa amin yan lahat."

The suspects were already imprisoned in the past for the same charges. — BAP, GMA News
