Two suspected COVID-19 cases dead on arrival in Caloocan, mayor says

Two suspected cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were declared dead on arrival at a hospital, Caloocan Mayor  Oscar Malapitan said in an interview on GMA News’ Unang Balita on Tuesday.

According to Malapitan, it was the doctor who said the patients might be positive for COVID-19.

“Kahapon may tumawag sa akin. May namatay doon na dalawa. Hindi masabi kung COVID dahil nga dead on arrival pagdating doon sa ospital…Tila COVID-19,” he said.

Malapitan said the members of the deceased's household were now considered as persons under monitoring (PUMs)

On Monday, Malapitan revealed that an employee of the city government has tested positive for the COVID-19.

The Department of Health said on Tuesday that there was now a sustained community transmission of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

The country had 142 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Monday night, and 12 deaths from the illness. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
