EPD headquarters placed under lockdown after 24 cops test positive for COVID-19

The Eastern Police District headquarters in Pasig City was placed under lockdown on Wednesday after 24 of its policemen tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

EPD chief Police Brigadier General Johnson Almazan told GMA News Online in a text message that the lockdown would end until May 17 (Sunday).

The EPD has jurisdiction over the cities of Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong and Marikina.

as some personnel also tested positive for the illness. It ended on Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, 179 personnel in the Philippine National Police tested positive for COVID-19.
