Six PISTON drivers ordered released after posting bail

The six members of PISTON, who were arrested for conducting protest action last week, were already ordered to be released on Monday.

According to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Allan Gatus, Caloocan City Police chief Police Colonel Dario Menor already received the release order of the six jeepney drivers from the Caloocan City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 52.

Caloocan City Representative Edgar Erice posted on his official Facebook page the court order allowing the jeepney drivers to post bail. It was stated there that each of the driver should post a P3,000 bail as recommended by the Office of the City Prosecutor.

The drivers, identified as Severino Ramos, Wilson Ramilia, Ramon Paloma, Ruben Baylon, Arsenio Ymas Jr., and Elmer Cordero, were arrested last June 2 for allegedly violating the city ordinance on social distancing, the ban on any forms of mass gathering, and resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.
