Tiffany Uy, UPD's highest grade record holder since WWII, graduates from UPM Medicine as valedictorian

The University of the Philippines' highest grade record holder since World War II, Tiffany Uy, has graduated on Sunday from the UP College of Medicine Class of 2020 with latin honors anew.

Apart from being recognized as magna cum laude, Uy was also awarded with the Faculty Gold Medal as the class valedictorian.

In June 2015, Uy earned the highest weighted average grade (WAG) in the university's history since World War II with a GWA of 1.004. She was summa cum laude with a degree in BS Biology.

Uy bested the previous highest record of John Gabriel Pelias, a BS Mathematics graduate back in 2011.

UP records show that the highest WAG ever earned by their graduate was 1.0, the highest grade a student can receive. This record was set by Exequiel Sevilla, a BS Business Administration graduate in 1927.

The keynote speaker during Uy's commencement exercise is Atty. Chel Diokno.

Tiffany Uy has been trending on Philippine Twitter on Monday with over 9,500 tweets with netizens commending her excellence in academics.
