3 nabbed for alleged rape-slay of flight attendant in Makati

Three suspects in the alleged rape-slay of a 23-year-old flight attendant in Makati are now under police custody, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday.

The suspects were identified as John Pascual Dela Serna III, 27, Rommel Daluro Galido, 29, and John Paul Reyes Halili, 25.

They were charged for rape with homicide during inquest proceedings at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas said nine other people who were with the victim, Christine Dacera, during her stay at the Makati hotel where she was found dead are still being sought by police.

This was despite the PNP’s statement indicating that Sinas “said the rape-slay of Christine Angelica Dacera is solved with the arrest and indictment of three suspects” in his report to Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.

Those at large were identified as Gregorio Angelo de Guzman, Louie de Lima, Clark Jezreel Rapinan, Rey Englis, Mark Anthony Rosales, Jammyr Cunanan, Valentine Rosales, a certain Ed Madrid, and a certain Paul.

Dacera was found lifeless in the bathtub of a hotel room past noon on New Year’s Day.

She checked into the hotel along with friends for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

The victim’s mother, Sharon, said they were even on video call past 12 a.m. of January 1, hours before Christine was found dead.

The Commission on Human Rights said Dacera’s case cannot be considered solved until justice has been served. —BAP/KG, GMA News
