Danao admits evidence to prove Christine Dacera was raped not yet enough

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting director Police Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr. believes that the pieces of evidence presented to show that Christine Dacera was raped prior her death were still insufficient.

"'Yan po talaga sinabi ko. Sinabi ko na I'm not really that convinced when I read 'yung mga documents, kaya lang po naifile na rin so nandoon na rin," Danao said in a radio interview.

"'Yung pagkafile ng case na 'yan dahil sa eagerness po ng ating kapulisan na maifile kaagad pero ako sabi ko nga honestly speaking eh kung baga sa mangga ay medyo hilaw pa," he added.

Danao said the police are now looking deeper into the case of the flight attendant who was found lifeless in a bathtub of a hotel room in Makati City on January 1.

He said the police would determine if there was a foul play on Dacera's death. Danao added that police only recovered alcohol in the hotel and no illegal drugs were found.

"Wala po kaming nakita as of now pero it could be 'yung drugs kasi kapag nainom na 'yan o pinainom na o nagamit ay definitely wala ka makikita na," Danao said.

"Kaya 'yung result supposedly ng toxicology is very important kaya nga po ang focus natin ngayon is more on forensic evidence na," he added.

The NCRPO chief, however, said police see the New Year's Eve celebration attended by Dacera and her friends as a rave party.

"Sa nakita po namin, it is a rave party 'yung nangyari..." he said.

"Talagang magkakaroon po ng aneurysm, 'yun po ang sabi ng ibang mga doktor na kilala ko. That would be one of the cause, 'yung heavy drinking coupled with drugs lalo na at party drugs eh talagang puputok 'yan, magrupture. Hindi ko alam kung gaano katotoo 'yun," Danao said.

The family of Dacera believes the flight attendant was raped and drugged. Three of her companions during the New Year's celebration were earlier arrested but were ordered released by the Makati City Prosecutor's Office Tuesday.

It stated that the pieces of evidence initially submitted by the police were insufficient in establishing that Dacera was really raped.

The pieces of evidence were also not enough to prove what was the real cause of Dacera's death, the city prosecutor said.—AOL, GMA News
