Isko Moreno gets Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine shot

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Sunday received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Chinese biotech firm Sinovac at Osmeña High School in Tondo, Manila.

In a briefing with reporters after his vaccination, Moreno urged those in the priority list to get vaccinated as the best vaccines are the ones made available.

"The best vaccines are those vaccines available nowadays. The most efficient vaccine is the one in your arms," Moreno said.

Aside from Sinovac vaccines, Manila has also rolled out AstraZeneca-made vaccines for senior citizens, which belongs to the priority list for vaccination.

Moreno also joined residents included in A3 priority group, aged 18 to 59 years with comorbidities.

Over the weekend, President Rodrigo Duterte greenlighted COVID-19 immunization for local chief executives in high-risk cities and towns.

As of April 3, Manila logged 43,179 total COVID-19 cases, with 4,012 active cases,  38,258 recoveries, and 909 deaths.
