PNP: 2 suspects killed in Pasay shootout, P47.6-M shabu seized

Two drug suspects died in a buy-bust operation on Sunday morning in Pasay City as they tried to shoot it out with law enforcers, the Philippine National Police said.

In a report, the PNP identified the fatalities only as Domeng and Rey, who engaged police operatives in a firefight during the buy-bust operation along C5 Extension in Barangay 201 at about 3:10 a.m.

Also, operatives recovered P47.6 million worth of crystal meth or shabu from the slain suspects, who supposedly got their supply from Chinese sources.

Over seven kilograms of shabu stored in packs of teabags were discovered inside the suspects' vehicle. Also, recovered were P1,500,000 boodle money and short firearms.

According to the report, law enforcers said the suspects were allegedly distributors of illegal drugs in Metro Manila and nearby areas.

"They are able to get supplies of illegal drugs from Chinese nationals and Filipino contacts," the report indicated. —Consuela Marquez/LBG, GMA News
