Police on Tuesday arrested three suspects in an entrapment operation in Las Piñas City for allegedly issuing fake RT-PCR test results for COVID-19.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Southern Police District said the entrapment operation was conducted at a medical clinic along Alabang Zapote Road in Barangan Talon Dos.

Police identified the three arrested suspects as Frederick Jude, Janice Dasco and Gabriela Dimaano.

Recovered from the suspects were two RT-PCR test results, four rapid test results, certificate of registration, DTI business name registration, business license, and mayor’s permit, among others.

Also recovered during the operation, according to the police, were rolled aluminum foil and a piece of improvised glass tooter with traces of shabu residue.

The arrested suspects and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit office for proper disposition, the SPD said.

The suspects will face charges for falsification of public documents, while Jude will face additional charges for the violation of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, it added.

According to the SPD, the operation is in compliance with the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government to the Philippine National Police to intensify crackdown against fake COVID-19 tests. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
