2 dead, 2 wounded in Tondo shooting

Two victims died while two others were injured after unidentified gunmen shot them inside their home in Tondo, Manila early morning Monday.

According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras," victim Raymond Tington and his nephew Obet Tington were dead on the spot after suspects barged into their home at 2 a.m. Raymond was shot in the head while Obet was hit in his body.

Assailants also shot Raymond's mother Bebeng and father Popoy, who at one point scuffled with the two suspects. The two victims were injured in the incident but are now in stable condition.

A barangay councilor, who was one of the witnesses, said Popoy briefly wrestled with the suspects before the assailants fled the area.

According to local officials, Raymond was allegedly involved in illegal drugs and a previous shooting incident in their area.

The Manila Police District had limited information on the shooting but vowed that they would continue to investigate the Tondo murders. — Consuelo Marquez/DVM, GMA News
