(Update) Worker in Enchanted Kingdom accident dies

One of two workers who fell from the roof of a 50-meter high structure at the Enchanted Kingdom amusement park in Santa Rosa, Laguna, died Wednesday evening, a few hours after the accident. Francis Tangente succumbed to injuries while Jesus Trazona survived but suffered a fractured hip. Tangente and Trazona were rushed to St. James Hospital in Santa Rosa after falling from the 50-meter high structure while fixing a lightning arrester at about 4 p.m. Miles Sarmiento, head of the Enchanted Kingdom’s corporate communication department, said the accident was "not ride-related." She said the families of the victims were already informed about the accident. Sarmiento said the park’s attractions are "in good condition." The park will continue normal operations Thursday. The accident at the Enchanted Kingdom came a month after a 13-year-old girl fell 38 feet to her death from a ride at the Star City theme park in Pasay City. GMANews.TV
