Typhoon Bebeng keeps strength, moves farther away from RP
Typhoon âBebeng" maintained its strength as it continued to move away from Philippine territory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration said. In its advisory dated 11 p.m. Thursday, Pag-asa said âBebeng" (international code name Man-Yi) was located 660 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes or 270 kms south of Okinawa, Southern Japan. âBebeng" packed maximum sustained winds of 160 kph and gustiness of 195 kph, and was moving north-northwest at 22 kph. Pag-asa said it expects âBebeng" to be 900 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes or 110 kms north of Okinawa, Southern Japan by Friday night. But it maintained âBebeng" will continue to induce the southwest monsoon that will bring rains particularly over the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon. Residents in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes were advised to seek safer grounds against possible occurrence of flash floods and landslides. - GMANews.TV
