Oracion, Emata back at Everest Base Camp

Mountaineers Leo Oracion and Pastor Emata, who reached the summit of Mount Everest on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, made it back to Base Camp on Friday afternoon. Oracion became the first Filipino to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, and was followed by Emata. They are both members of the First Philippine Mt. Everest Expedition. Base Camp, found at 17,600 feet, is where mountaineers launch their trek up the summit, or rest and recover from the grueling, perilous journey. Mt. Everest is 29,035 feet high.-GMANews.TV
