Market visit, motorcade, rally mark Senate bets campaign


Administration-backed coalition Hugpong ng Pagbabago came to Ilocos Sur in full force on Monday and was joined by Davao Mayor Sara Duterte, according to a report by Tina Panganiban-Perez on GMA's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho on Monday.

Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson hosted the campaign rally in Vigan City, which was attended by JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar, Francis Tolentino, Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla, Ronald Dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, Jiggy Manicad, Dong Mangudadatu.

In the afternoon, the team motored to Ilocos Norte, the bailiwick of Marcos.

Reelectionist Senator Grace Poe made an early visit to Obrero Market in Manila to mingle with the vendors and customers.

Former Bayan Muna party-list congressman Neri Colmenares campaigned in Cebu, while Otso Diretso bet Gary Alejano barnstormed Pangasinan, one of the provinces in the country with the most number of voters.

Marcelino Arias and Sonny Matula of Labor Party Philippines campaigned in Albay.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections, Philippines National Police and the Department of the Interior and Local Government have begun talks for the removal of illegal campaign posters.

"Hopefully, makapag-baklas tayo middle of the week. Nai-document at naihanda na iyong report for that," Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said.

Jimenez also welcomed the proposal of the Department of Education to ban politicians from attending graduation rites. —LDF/KG, GMA News
