Paolo Duterte says Trillanes behind video linking him to illegal drug trade

Former Davao City vice mayor and President Rodrigo Duterte's son Paolo Duterte has accused Senator Antonio Trillanes IV of masterminding the video linking him to the illegal drug trade.

Paolo was referring to the video titled "Ang Totoong Narcolist" wherein a certain Bikoy claimed that he was a former drug syndicate member and has evidence of the  involvement of the president's son in the illegal drug trade.

Bikoy  said he had ledgers revealing Paolo's bank records that would show him receiving millions.

"If there’s anything admirable about Mr. Antonio Trillanes, it is his relentlessness and talent to turn the absurd into something ridiculous, if not bizarrely entertaining. He may deny it, but the video supposedly showing my involvement in the illegal drug trade in the country has been clearly stamped with the indelible Trillanes signature of being a desperate mercenary, the one who has done nothing good but attack the government," Paolo said in a Facebook post.

He also declared that he would not show the tattoo on his back, which Trillanes said would prove that the former was a member of a "triad" or an international drug syndicate.

"No, I will not show the tattoo on my back and make things easier for Mr. Trillanes. Instead, I dare him and everyone behind the stupid and empty video exposé to back their claims against me," Paolo said.

He said he would file "another string of cases" against the senator  "for his continued attempts to destroy my reputation."

In September 2018, Paolo and his brother-in-law Manases Carpio have filed separate complaints for libel against Trillanes over his claims that they extorted money from ride-sharing firm Uber and other firms. —Llanesca Panti/LDF, GMA News
