If you believe Bikoy's claims, vote for Otso Diretso bets —Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte dared voters to choose Otso Diretso senatorial candidates if they believe the claims of Peter Joemel Advincula—also known as the hooded figure "Bikoy" —against members of his family, supposedly involved in illegal drug trade.

Duterte made the remark as he pleaded one last time for voters to pick the senatorial candidates he is endorsing for the May 13 polls.

"Ako, ganito na lang. Para simple. If you believe in Bikoy, kindly vote for the Otso Diresto. ‘Pag maniwala kayo, doon kayo," Duterte said in his speech during the miting de avance of his party PDP-Laban on Saturday evening.

"If you want a country of inutile, mga duwag, ayan ang mangyari sa gobyerno ninyo," he added.

Duterte asked the audience if they have seen thousands of drug personalities surrendering before his administration took over.

"I need men sa Senate. Kailangan ko ng mga tao na hindi… Ma-ano ‘yan sila but they delay kasi ayaw. ‘Yung iba kausapin pa," he said.

Duterte earlier lashed out against Otso Diretso senatorial candidates, mocking them and questioning their capabilities.

He, however, spared Marawi civic leader and senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc for being a woman.

The opposition candidates, meanwhile, have called for an in-depth and independent investigation into Bikoy's allegations, with Magdalo party-list Representative and senatorial candidate Gary Alejano even saying that it would be shame to the nation if the President's family itself is involved in drugs despite his administration's bloody war on drugs. —Erwin Colcol/LBG, GMA News
