'Bikoy' Advincula gets discharged from PNP Gen. Hospital, set to walk free

Peter Joemel Advincula who claimed to be "Bikoy" in the "Ang Totoong Narco List" videos, was discharged from the Philippine National Police General Hospital on Saturday and is set to walk free after having posting bail earlier.

According to a report of Mark Makalalad on Super Radyo dzBB, a source said Advincula was discharged at 8:25 a.m.

Advincula was brought to the PNP General Hospital on Friday twice after his blood pressure shot up.

According to Makalalad's source, Advincula underwent a medical examination and was discharged after his blood pressure went back to normal. He is in good condition on Saturday morning as of posting time.

Operatives of the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group accompanied Advincula on his way out of the hospital and brought him to a van.

He was brought to the PNP-CIDG office for processing and final checkup before his release, according to a report by Isa Avendaño-Umali on Super Radyo dzBB.

PNP-CIDG-NCR chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnold Ibay told Super Radyo dzBB that Advincula will be released to his family.

"Ire-release lang namin siya sa kanyang pamilya tapos from there pansamantala na siyang lalaya dahil na-grant na ang bail sa kanya," Ibay said.

"Pagka-release niya sa ospital pino-proseso lang namin siya tapos ire-release na agad namin siya sa pamilya ayon sa utos ng korte," he added.

"As of now, wala na siyang kaso. Wala na kaming hawak na warrant of arrest laban sa kanya. Nagbigay na rin naman siya ng bail doon sa dalawang warrant of arrest na nai-serve sa kanya," Ibay said.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Bernard Banac on Friday said Advincula has already posted bail for estafa charges filed before the Baguio Regional Trial Court.

"Yes, at this time, naka post na ng bail sa lahat ng cases niya. He may choose to leave Crame hospital as soon as doctor certifies he is fit and well for discharge," Banac said.

On Thursday, PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday said Advincula can go after he posts bail.

"At this time he is under our custody pero after siguro niya mag-post ng bail he can go," Albayalde said in a press briefing.

Advincula claimed he was the hooded man in the video series called "Ang Totoong Narco List" where he accused members of the First Family and Senator-elect Bong Go of receiving drug money.

Advincula, however, retracted his statement and pointed to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and allies of the Liberal Party as the masterminds.

Trillanes denied the allegation and said it may be another ploy of the administration to harass the opposition.

Senate Minority Franklin Drilon, LP vice chairman, denied that the party is behind the anti-Duterte videos.

Albayalde said Advincula may request for police protection but this will be subject to threat assessment.

"Depende sa kanya kung siya ay hihingi ng police escort," Ibay said on Saturday.
