DUE TO ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE

DTI issuing IDs for travel ban-exempt workers to further facilitate transit

The government will issue an additional identification card for employees of enterprises and logistics companies who are exempted from the travel ban amid the Luzon-wide community quarantine, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

"To further facilitate transit of personnel of covered enterprises and establishments, an official IATF ID issued by the Department of Trade and Industry shall be presented starting 22 March 2020 unless extended," says DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez in a memorandum.

Currently, those reporting for work in establishments involved in production, processing, distribution, and sale of food, medical supplies, and other essential products are being allowed to pass through control point by presenting any of the following:

  • Valid company ID
  • Proof of residence
  • Certification of employment

DTI reminded the public that safety protocols and social distancing measures shall be observed by the employees who are still reporting for work.

It also urged companies to provide shuttle services and temporary accommodation for their workers as mass transportation facilities have been suspended. —Dona Magsino/LBG, GMA News
