Local government units is given a free hand in implementing their own “window hours” when people can have time to go out of their homes to buy food and essential commodities during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, the Philippine National Police said Saturday.

During the “Laging Handa” press briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said the Joint Task Force COVID Shield has not released any guidelines on “window hours.”

However, Banac said, LGUs may have published their own specific set of window hours.

“So we respect that at the local level,” he said in a separate text message.

For his part, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez told GMA News Online that LGUs are not prohibited from setting specific schedules when people can go out to buy food and basic goods.

“Hindi naman ipinagbabawal. They’re setting [that] siguro sa community,” Lopez said.  —LBG, GMA News
