Duterte wants speedy delivery of medical supplies in war vs. COVID-19


President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night called for the speedy delivery of medical supplies amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Duterte urged relevant agencies to "ensure the speedy delivery of basic medical supplies and equipment to help facilities."

"From the approval, importation, and delivery- Everything must go smoothly to make sure that we do not waste time," Duterte said in a televised address..

He called on concerned authorities to cut red-tape.

"I do not want red tapes. I do not want so many questions. Pagka-cinertify ng isang government employee 'yan. I said do not commit the mistake and we will all be happy and comfortable," Duterte said.

"Kung gusto niyo mag loko, wag ngayon itong panahon na ito," he added.

During his speech, the president called for cooperation not only from the public but also other government officials.

"I call on every FIlipino to participate in this war by following the guidelines. I repeat, stay at home. 'Wag matigas ang ulo, the outcome of this war depends largely on you as well," Duterte said.

"To my fellow public servants, let us set aside our differences and work in solidarity to overcome this pandemic. We only have one common enemy and that is COVID-19," he added.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 552 on Tuesday with 35 fatalities and 20 recoveries. -NB, GMA News
