DOH offers free ‘telemedicine’ consultations to NCR residents

The Department of Health (DOH) has launched a free telemedicine consultation service for residents of Metro Manila, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced Tuesday.

Metro Manila residents who wish to consult medical experts for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 primary care concerns may call the 24/7 hotline at 02-8424-1724 free of charge.

The DOH said all consortium doctors who will man the hotlines are licensed and certified.

The telemedicine consultation hotline was launched through the partnership of the DOH, Telimed Management Inc., and Medgate.

“Ang privacy at confidentiality ng mga pasyente ay atin pong pinahahalagahan kaya sinisiguro ng DOH at National Privacy Commission na sinusunod [ang] mga security measures upang mapangalagaan ang data privacy rights ng sinumang kumonsulta,” Duque said at a virtual press briefing.

The health chief added that Filipinos outside Metro Manila may call the DOH hotlines for COVID-19 concerns at 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555.

COVID-19 has so far claimed 177 lives and infected over 3,000 people nationwide. -NB, GMA News
