Philippine aircraft lands in China for $2.5-M COVID-19 equipment


A Philippine Air Force C130 cargo plane has landed at Shenzhen, China to pick up COVID-19 laboratory equipment worth $2.5M, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.

The BGI COVID-19 equipment, which may be set up in seven to 10 days, can conduct up to 45,000 tests, the Health department added.

The equipment was reportedly secured by the government through grant assistance from the Asian Development Bank.

The cargo plane will return to the country via Clark International Airport

The DOH on Tuesday reported a total of 6,599 COVID-19 cases with a total of 654 recoveries and 437 fatalities. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
