Health workers with COVID-19 now at 2,736; recoveries rise to 1,589


 

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that the number of healthcare workers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 2,736 as of June 7.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH said 1,589 of these health workers have recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll has remained at 32 since May 29.

The other 1,115 medical workers are active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

Of this number, 990 are mild cases, 124 are asymptomatic, while one is in severe condition.

Health workers account for 12 percent of the total infections nationwide.

The Philippines has logged 22,474 cases with 4,637 recoveries and 1,011 deaths as of Monday afternoon.  —LDF, GMA News
