Don't expect to get travel passes immediately – IATF

Though the requirements for travel authority passes were simple, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) advised the public not to expect these to be issued quickly.

"'Wag niyo po asahan na ura-urada ma-approve agad 'yan," Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar said in Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras."

"Kasi po aamin naman sa health desk ng PNP, ang isang requirement namin bago kami mag-issue ng travel authority is naimpormahan namin 'yung receiving LGU or LGU of destination... and kailangan ng feedback o advise galing sa kanila," he added.

Individuals who are required to hold a travel authority are those who will be leaving the provinces or Metro Manila for their family, or medical emergencies, and locally stranded individuals.

Meanwhile, individuals who are not required to hold a travel authority are those that have important travel within the province or Metro Manila, those that have family or medical emergencies within the city, those who are leaving the province or Metro Manila due to the death of a relative, and authorized persons outside of the residence.

The most important document to acquire a travel pass is a medical certificate clearing the individual from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

"Ang mag-issue lang nu'n, LGU health office. Tandaan po natin. Hindi private physician, LGU health office ang mag-issue nu'n," Eleazar said.

"'[Y]un po ay dapat ay merong certificate or vinouch 'yun ng barangay na nag-karoon siya ng atleast 14 days na home quarantine na wala siyang anu mang indication na nagkaroon siya ng COVID-19," he added. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
