FDA warns public vs. buying Reno liver spread, 4 other products

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday advised the public not to buy and consume the popular Reno liver spread and four other products that it said were unregistered.

In an advisory released on Wednesday, the FDA also warned the public against buying and consuming Miracle White Advanced Whitening Capsules Food Supplement, Turcumin Natural & Standardized Turmeric Curcumin, Desa Spanish Style Bangus in Corn Oil, and Samantha's Spanish Sardines Paste Sauce.

“The FDA verified… that the above mentioned food products and food supplements are not registered and no corresponding Certificates of Product Registration have been issued,” the agency said.

“Since these unregistered food products and food supplements have not gone through evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety,” it added.

The FDA said that the public may verify if a product had been egistered through its website, www.fda.gov.ph. -Julia Mari Ornedo/NB, GMA News
