DPWH internal probe on corruption will spare no one —Villar
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar today voiced support for President Duterte’s order for the Department of Justice to investigate alleged corruption in the entire government.
“Of course, full support kami with this campaign. And of course we’ll do anything in our power to further curb corruption in government,” Villar said in an interview during the operationalization of the Estero de Sunog Apog Pumping Station in Manila.
The DPWH had also formed its own task force, which Villar said will continue its internal investigation.
“Tuloy pa rin. Siyempre, yung sa amin, it’s also internal. Kailangan din ng internal. And then may external na rin. Of course, we’re happy with the creation of this task force. We welcome the creation of these task forces and we support the president in his campaign,” Villar said.
He added that they are set to come out with their findings soon.
“Internally, meron na kaming mga reports and we’ll come out with some findings soon. Both high and low ranking. Wala naman kaming pipiliin,” Villar said.
While the investigations are ongoing, the secretary assured that pubic works projects will continue.
“We have protocols now. We do have mga tracking and we have high technology. Maghahanap pa kami ng paraan para lalong mabawasan po ang korapsyon,” Villar said.—LDF, GMA News
