Mom appeals to Duterte for help in seeking justice for Christine Dacera's death

Sharon Dacera, the mother of flight attendant Christine, appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to help them in attaining justice for the death of her 23-year-old daughter.

An emotional Sharon faced the members of the press on Tuesday afternoon. She said she cannot still accept the fact that her daughter is already gone.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa ating Panginoong Diyos na binibigyan niya pa ako ng sapat na lakas para harapin 'yung laban ng anak ko," Sharon said.

"Ang sakit sakit pa ring i-accept ang nangyari sa anak ko, sobrang sakit. Kung di po dahil sa mga taong tumutulong sakin, hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko, the only thing I can do is I wanna hug my daughter..." she added.

"Tatay Digong, Tatay Digong... tulungan mo kami. Ordinaryo lang po ako na tao. ordinaryo lang po 'yung pamilya ko," Sharon said.

She also asked help from Duterte's daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, saying that the mayor also has a daughter.

The grieving mother said she doesn't want other women to encounter the same thing that her daughter experienced.

"I don't want that somebody will be victim again of this brutality... Binaboy ninyo ang anak ko! Ayaw ko may mangyari diyan na may babaeng bababuyin ninyo ulit," she said.

Christine was found lifeless in the bathtub of a hotel room in Makati City past noon on January 1. She checked into the hotel along with some friends for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
