OVP’s ‘Bayanihan E-Konsulta’ to temporarily stop receiving requests on Monday

The Office of the Vice President will temporarily stop receiving new requests for its “Bayanihan E-Konsulta” on Monday, April 12, to integrate external volunteers and fix technical issues and backlogs.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Vice President Leni Robredo said they did not expect the influx of requests for consultation.

She said her office will resume accepting new requests on Tuesday, April 13 at 7 a.m.

“Sobrang overwhelming ang support at sobrang overwhelming din ang dami ng requests na pinaabot sa atin. Patunay ito na kailangang natin ng ganitong uri ng serbisyo,” she said.

(The support and requests were overwhelming. This is proof that the public needs this kind of service.)

“[K]ailangan namin ngayon ng kaunting oras para habulin at tugunan muna ang lahat ng pumasok na request,” she added.

(We just need more time to fix our backlogs.)

Further, Robredo asked for understanding as they still need to fix the platform and process flow.

“Binanggit ko ito before we launched—bitin tayo sa resources at malinaw na sobrang dami talaga ng taong kailangang kumonsulta sa doktor remotely,” she said.

(Before we launched, I mentioned that we do not have enough resources and it’s clear that there are a lot of people who need to consult a doctor remotely.)

“We still want the program to continue to be able to help many more so we need a day to work through our backlogs with the help of our external volunteers and make our system even more responsive, including fixing all technical issues,” she added.

On Wednesday, the OVP launched Bayanihan E-Konsulta, a free teleconsultation service on Facebook that aims to help patients of COVID-19 and other diseases in the National Capital Region Plus get medical attention. — DVM, GMA News
